Job Description

We're looking for a talented  Data Protection Officer  (DPO) to accept a privacy challenge that our new solution can face in the European market. 

In this role, you will monitor compliance and data practices for a group of companies to ensure the business and its functions comply with the applicable requirements under the GDPR. You will be responsible for staff training, data protection impact assessments, and internal audits. You will also serve as the primary contact for supervisory authorities and individuals whose data is processed by the group of organizations. 

 Objectives

  • Ensure compliance of company business process and application to requirements of European data protection laws and GDPR 

  • Devise training plans and provide data protection advice and support for members of staff Act as the primary point of contact within the organization for members of staff, regulators, and any relevant public bodies on issues related to data protection 

  • Inform and advise the company on all matters related to data protection 

  • Ensure the company’s policies is in accordance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)  

  • Monitoring the company’s strategies for the protection of personal data, including the allocation of responsibilities, awareness-raising 

  • On request, advising in connection with the DPIA and implementations thereof 

  • Evaluate the existing data protection framework and identify areas of non or partial compliance and rectify any issues 

  • Promote a culture of data protection compliance across all units of the organization 

  • Monitoring process of data transfers

Responsibilities 

  • Hold training with staff members across different business units who are involved in data handling or processing 

  • Maintain records of all data processing activities carried out by the company 

  • Provide expert advice to employees on important data compliance requirements 

  • Evaluate the new functionality of applications or business process regarding privacy 

  • Draft new and amend existing internal data protection policies, guidelines, and procedures, in consultation with key stakeholders 

  • Conclude DPA and SCC 

  • Proactively conduct audits to ensure compliance and address potential issues 

  • Assess the risks of data transmission 

  • Document the date flow 

  • Serve as the point of contact between the company and the data protection authorities

Skills and Qualifications 

  • Minimum of 6 months experience working in data protection compliance, informational security or a related field 

  • Expertise in European data protection laws and practices including an in-depth understanding of the GDPR 

  • Experience within a legal, audit and/or risk function department 

  • Strong project management skills 

  • Knowledge of the basics of information security
